Mac McHale & Emery Hutchins

Sunday November 19, 2:00pm in Memorial Hall
free to the public, sponsored by the Friends of MHL

If you're a big fan of folk, particularly old-timey bluegrass and Americana, then you will come to the right place on November 19th. Hailing from Wells, Maine, the instrumental duo of Mac McHale and Emery Hutchins will provide us with a guided tour of genre signposts. Mac McHale, well-known head of the Old Time Radio Gang, will perform traditional music from Appalachia and the British Isles with Angel Band member Emery Hutchins. The pair perform traditional songs on guitar, banjo, octave mandolin, bodhran and a baritone concertina.

Interspersing traditional country songs with the traditional Irish and Scotch tunes, the pair perform classics such as Orange Blossom Special, Doc Watson's Curly Headed Baby, and Twa Recruiting Sergeants, a Scottish Black Watch recruitment song.

Between the two of them they have over 80 years of experience.
