In this performance, Aubrey Atwater will
present a cross-section of her American
and Celtic song repertoire, exploring
Irish music as one of the bases for
American folk music and dance.
Instrumentation will include vocals, tin
whistle, guitar, mountain dulcimer,
old-time banjo, feet and more. Part of
the program will include clogging, the
American cousin to Irish step-dancing.
Aubrey Atwater is an award-winning
performer whose joy and musicality blend
with her scholarly side, showing deep
understanding of traditional music and
dance. Aubrey has appeared in over 30
states and abroad and has produced four
books and ten CDs.
