Computer Basics
This course is designed for people with
little to no experience using a
computer. Learn the basic elements of
the Windows operating system including:
using a mouse and keyboard,
highlighting, copying, and pasting text,
common menus, toolbars, and shortcuts,
finding programs and files, and printing
and saving.
Wednesday, October 14 from 8-9am
Internet Searching
This class will cover basic introduction
to the Internet including using web
addresses (URLs), understanding Internet
terminology, using Internet Explorer
buttons and toolbars, using search
engines, and evaluating web sites.
Prerequisite: Computer Basics class or familiarity with mouse, highlighting,
copying, and pasting.
Wednesday, October 21 from 8-9am
Using
Email
Learn how to create and use a free email
account including: choosing a unique
email address and password, composing
and sending messages, attaching files,
using the address book, reading and
replying to mail, deleting messages, and
how to handle junk mail.
Prerequisite:
Computer Basics class or familiarity
with mouse and typing, Internet
Searching class or familiarity with
getting online and entering Web
addresses, and typing or word processing
skills.
