Friday, March 4, 2011 from 5:30-10pm
Attendees must arrive by 6:00pm
Beginning and experienced genealogists
are invited to an evening of genealogy
research after hours at Memorial Hall
Library.
Attendees will have exclusive access to
library resources including computers,
microfilm readers, the Andover Room,
WIFI, and
databases from Heritage Quest,
Ancestry Library, and New England
Ancestors.
Reference librarians will be available
to answer questions and to provide
guided assistance.
A light meal will be provided.
Cost: $10 payable to the Friends of
Memorial Hall Library. Payment due at
the door. Space is limited.

Looking After the Poor: Finding Your
Ancestors in New England Poverty Records

settlement law. Marian Pierre-Louis will
take you into the depths of New England
town records to reveal the hard to find
information about your elusive
ancestors.
Genealogy Myths and Legends

Michael Brophy will explain and debunk
some of the popular fiction about
Genealogy and Family History. Myths
include: “I can do all of my family
research online,” “Courthouse burned and
destroyed all the records”, “Name was
Changed at Ellis Island”, and “I am
descended from an Indian”, be prepared
for an end to some old fairy tales!
Naturalization and Probate Records

Learn about the probate and
naturalization records on microfilm held
by the
Massachusetts Archives as well as
resources including the Judicial
Archives and the
National Archives of
Waltham, MA. Presented by Autumn Haag,
Reference Archivist, MA Archives.
