Share Your Passion: Call for Artists & Writers

Do you have a unique skill that you would like to share? The Library is looking for talented artists, writers, and anyone with a creative talent to offer demonstrations of their craft in The Beehive.

The library is reviewing applications for art and craft demonstrators to work on their craft and answer questions during a 1-4 hour timeslot. Reach out to your community, and inspire new artists while working on a piece at the library. Measures must be taken to protect library furnishings and carpet.

The library is reviewing applications for authors to give readings, answer questions, and discuss their work during a 2-hour timeslot. Share your passion with future authors while connecting with new readers.

To apply, visit, and select the option for adult programming.

The Beehive

Memorial Hall Library is launching a Makerspace called The Beehive for community creativity and gathering. We will host several events each month for adults to learn, create, and interact. Find a new way to keep busy in The Beehive!

"Bee Busy" in The Beehive

  • Do you like to make things?
  • Do you enjoy art, crafts, writing, or photography?
  • Do you want to meet new people and try new things?
  • Would you like to share with your community?

The Beehive events will encourage learning, thinking, and trying new things including: author visits, artist demonstrations, hands-on crafts, games, write-ins, and other activities.

Visit The Beehive calendar for the list of upcoming events. Events are drop-in and do not require registration.

Authors Among Us

Join local authors for readings and discussions of their books in our new makerspace, an area for adult creativity and idea sharing. Books may be available for purchase and for signing. These free events are drop-in and do not require registration.
