Donations/Memberships to the Friends of
the Library
A great way to support the library is to
join the
Friends of Memorial Hall Library.
You can also
donate online to the Friends.

Amazon Purchases
You can support the Friends of MHL by
making your Amazon purchases (all your
purchases, not just books) through the
links that are provided on the
Friends web page or on the
home page
for the Library.
The process is simple. When you decide
to purchase an item from Amazon, connect
to Amazon through our web site by first
going to the Friends
page or the
MHL
home page and then click on
the Amazon
link or do a search through the
Amazon search box.
The Friends and Library benefit because
we participate in "Amazon Associates," a program
that Amazon has instituted to drive
traffic to their online store. Being an
Associate allows us to receive 4 to 8.5% of
your sale. For example, if you purchase
a $100 item, we would get between $4 and $8.50, just
because you used our website to connect
to Amazon.
This is a very painless way that you can
help the Friends and your local Library.
The money we make from Amazon will be
used for MHL programs (Teens and
Children Programs, Concerts, Museum
passes, and other special events).
Memorial Gifts
If you would like to donate funds to the
library to purchase books in memory or
in honor of someone, click here to

55kb). Just print up the form,
fill it out, and either fax or mail it
to us.
Gifts to the Trustees Fund
The Trustees Fund cannot be used for
regular library operations, like
purchasing materials, payroll, and
building maintenance. The Trustees Fund
only supports initiatives that are
outside the scope of the municipal
appropriation. For example, the Trustees
in recent years have provided
scholarships to library pages, purchased
public art like the Polar Bear
sculpture, and supported staff
professional development.

If you are interested in making a
donation to the Library Foundation,

the Director at the above number and she
will put you in touch with Karen.
The Memorial Hall Library Foundation is
organized and operated exclusively for
charitable, literary and scientific
purposes within the meaning of Section
501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
of 1986. The purpose of the Foundation
is to provide support and maintenance to
the library by providing funds and
services which will supplement but will
not replace the customary support of the
library by the Town of Andover.
Donations of New and Used Books and
Other Items
When you donate books and other items to
the Library, you are actually donating
the items to the Friends of the Library.
The library then selects those items
that it needs for its collection. The
rest are sold by the Friends at their
book sales, to benefit the library. In
order to be added to the collection, new
or used items donated to the library
must meet our regular selection criteria
as outlined in our
Collection Development Manual. To
