Steckel, Hilda

The Birdwatchers statues, located on the balcony across from the reference desk, were done by Hilda Steckel, Great Neck, New York. The sculptures were installed in December, 1989. In 1999 a storm toppled and broke two of the three Watchers and left only the female standing.
