Andover Citizens for Equal Opportunity was formed in the summer of 1964 as an offshoot of Andover Committee for a Better Choice (ABC). It's first meeting was held on June 8, 1964.  It was essentially a civil rights group whose emphasis was on education. housing, and employment issues in the inner city with a focus on Lawrence.
