Because many in the community were dedicated to the anti-slavery movement the Underground Railroad had several stops in the homes of Andover. <br><br>
Mystery author Susan Kelly modeled the heroine -  Liz Conners - of her mysteries after herself.  The stories are located in the Merrimack Valley area. While at Andover High School Susan Kelly worked at Memorial Hall Library.
