George Walter Dawson was born in Andover. Massachusetts, in 1870; he studied at the Massachusetts State Normal School and went on to teach drawing and water-color techniques at the University of Pennsylvania.
He painted beautiful watercolors featuring flowers. His painting of the Rose Cottage is a "famous" painting.
