Kristin Kearnis was killed in a bicycle accident in 2008 at the age of 26When cleaning her apartment her brother Billy found her outline for a children's story titled [http://andover.mvlc.org/opac/en-US/skin/default/xml/rresult.xml?rt=title&tp=title&t=surf%27s%20up%20penny&ft=&l=5&d=0&f=at&av=&at=420 ''Surf's Up Penny''] in her apartment. He had 5 copies (illustrated by Frits Ahlefeldt-Laurvig) printed. Penny's mother Pam Sheehey had the book published on a larger scale.
