| When the Lawrence YWCA decided it no longer wanted to house documents from early female immigrants Andover resident Eartha Dengler, a lover of history, decided the documents were too important to destroy. With them she began the Immigrant City Archives (later renamed the [http://www.lawrencehistorycenter.org/ Lawrence History Center]). She added materials, especially photos that she collected from other immigrants.
