The flagpole in front of the Andover Town Offices  originally dedicated only to Edward Harris, a veteran who served in the army for 30 year and later an Andover Selectman, was rededicated in August of 2007.  A plaque was added to the flagpole with the names of Edward Harris and his son George Rice Harris.  George, also a veteran, remained active with service to the town after his discharge from the military just as his father had.
