The "Phillips School" as it was first called, was open April 30, 1778 by Samuel Phillips. The present campus was built in 1865. In 1807 the "Class in Theology" became a separate institution, the [[Andover Theological Seminary]].  
The 350th Celebration Executive Committe included Robert W. Finney, Frederick A. Stott, Robert Macartney, Cyntha K. Milne, Norma Gammon (chairperson), and James D. Doherty. Other committee members include David F. Lynch, James. S. Batchelder, Mary W. Moran, James J. Redmond, M. Louise Ordman, John S. Sullivan.
