To borrow DVDs and videocassettes you
need a Passport
to Video-DVD Borrowing sticker on
your card. You can get this
sticker by visiting the Circulation or
Children's Room desk and signing
a form
that indicates you understand the
following:
Videocassettes and DVDs circulate
for 7 days. No renewals. At any time,
you may have checked out up to 10 adult
and 3 children's videos, 4 DVDs and 2
Quick Flicks.
All feature film DVDs checked out in Andover cost $1 for a 7
day loan starting 7/1/04. Quick Flicks
cost $2 for a 7 day loan.
A fine of $1 per day (or part of a
day) will be levied for a DVD that is overdue (maximum $5 per
title).
Films may be returned in the
Essex Street bookdrop when the items
are secured with a rubber band or
placed in a sealed bag. Borrowers
who return in the bookdrop unsecured
items that are found to be damaged
may be assessed a replacement/repair
charge.
The library cannot be held
responsible for any damage to home
equipment.
Copying videos is not permitted by
the copyright holder. Most videos
(exceptions are the MacArthur series
and those noted by a sticker on the
video case) are licensed for private
use only. This prohibits any other use
or performance in public, in whole or
in part. If you are in doubt about a
possible use, ask at the Circulation
Desk for a sheet explaining the
copyright law.
