40,000 Names in the Family Tree
Andover resident Robert (Bob) Hanscom will talk about his work in genealogical research on
Wednesday, November 5th at 7:30. Mr. Hanscom has been doing genealogical research ever since he
was 12 years old. Over the years, he has built a computer database of nearly 40,000 names
from all branches of his family. He also has contributed to several genealogical
publications and, from 1987 to 1998, produced The Hanscom Family Newsletter. Although he grew up
in New Hampshire and in California, he has strong connections to early Andover
families -- one of his great-grandmothers had roots in this town, and was a direct descendant
of the Osgood, Farnum, Abbott, Ingalls, Dane, Holt, Russell, Hutchinson, Johnson, and Farrington families.
