MHL Children's Room Programs
The Children's Room offers year-round
programming for children from Birth
through the sixth grade.
Examples of the types of programs are
listed below. See above to

September
to May
- For Babies 0-23 months (Wiggle
Words)
- For Toddlers: 2-3 years (Make Way
for Toddlers)
- For Pre-School : 4-5 years (Little
Listeners)
- Pajama Party: 3 -5 years
- Baby Talk: Especially for
youngsters who are expecting a new
sibling or have just welcomed one.
July and August
- Story Garden for 0-2 year-olds
- Story Garden for 2 & 3 year-olds
- Pajama Party for 4-5 year-olds
- School Age Book Program for 6-8
and 8-11 year-olds

During Vacation Weeks, Children's Book
Week, and National Library Week special
drop-in programs will be offered for
various ages! Check back regularly for
information!
Filmstrips
For all preschoolers, this is an
informal half-hour of stories as
projected on the big screen. Filmstrips
will be scheduled in three sessions:
fall, winter, and summer. No
registration is required!
Clubs
Adventure clubs with limited
enrollment for 8 to 11-year-olds are
offered on Tuesday evenings during the
fall, winter, and summer. Some of the
themes have been Junior Detectives,
Space Cadets, and Knights of the Round
Table.
Summer Reading
Each summer, children of all ages are
invited to participate in an
individualized program designed to
encourage the enjoyment of books and
reading over the summer months. Sign-up
begins as soon as school gets out!
