1. About Horizon Receipt Printer

Horizon Receipt Printer is a console application that intercepts, reformats, then passes on to the LPT1: port any text that Horizon sends to the receipt printer.

Standard reformatting consists of:
  a) hold slips having the patron's name printed at the top in larger-than-usual letters
  b) transit slips being altered to serve as replacements for NMRLS routing slips

Registered copies of Horizon Receipt Printer include enhanced features that can print:
  a) a telephone number (or other text) on ordinary checkout and date-due slips
  b) a customized message on the tops of checkout and date-due slips
  c) mini-slips (i.e., slips that show just a library's name) for libraries you pre-sort for

2. System Requirements

Horizon Receipt Printer requires the following:
  a) Horizon 7.3
  b) Windows 2000 or Windows XP (also required by Horizon)
  c) Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1 or higher (available through Microsoft Update)
  d) a receipt printer connected to the PC's LPT1: port
 
Horizon Receipt Printer has not been tested on PCs running Windows Vista or on PCs whose receipt printers are connected to a USB port.

3. Installation and Configuration

Running the installer program (setup.exe) starts a setup wizard that helps you install and configure Horizon Receipt Printer. You can re-run the setup.exe program as many times as you like. Enhanced features (available in registered copies only) can be configured either via the setup wizard or manually by editing the setup.ini file that setup places in your C:\receipt printer folder.

4. Before You Use Horizon Receipt Printer

Horizon Receipt Printer will not work until you configure Horizon to use it. Steps for configuring Horizon can be found in the instructions.htm file that is installed when the setup wizard finishes.
