1936 Olympic summer games poster

On Wednesday, July 20 at 7pm, Don Robb will explore how Hitler used the 1936 Olympics as a public relations attempt to spread  propaganda and hide the truth about his Third Reich. His presentation will cover topics such as, why Germany was ripe for Hitler to take power in the 1930s; how his Nazi Party grew from an insignificant gang of malcontents into the most powerful political party in Germany; what the Nazi regime meant to the German people; how Hitler planned to use the Berlin Olympics to demonstrate the superiority of Germany and the German race, and how some Hungarian Jews, an African-American, and some rowers from the  University of Washington tarnished the image of Hitler and his theory of Aryan superiority.
