Next Monday our Teen Poetry Contest opens!
Teens in grades 6 through 12 can submit up to three poems at poetry.mhl.org. We’re planning a virtual reception this year so teens have the option to upload a video or audio recording of their poems as well.
We can’t wait to read all of your amazing poetry!
Our annual Teen Poetry Contest opens for submissions on Monday, March 13!
Participants have the option to submit a video or audio recording of themselves reading their poems at the time of entry. The poetry reception will be held Wednesday, May 10th at 7pm.
Here is more information about the contest:
- Submissions open on Monday, March 13th at 9:00 am and close on Monday, April 3rd at 9:00 pm.
- Students are welcome to submit up to 3 entries.
- Students do not have to live in Andover or attend Andover Public Schools to participate, but winners must be able to come into Memorial Hall Library to claim their prizes.
- Please copy and paste your text into the submission box or attach a Word document. No PDFs, please.

We invite our patrons and community to take the time to read these wonderful works of poetry. There is an introduction video with remarks from Anna, Renata, and Gayle, as well as some performances by the teen poets themselves.
