Trace your Scottish ancestors.

On Wednesday, December 6 at 7:00pm, David Dearborn will share the basic steps in undertaking Scottish genealogy, what genealogical records exist and how to access them, as well as Andover’s role in Scottish emigration. Sign up online. Scottish genealogical records are among the most complete and comprehensive of any European country, and anyone with ancestors who arrived in the 1850s or later is almost certain to have success in tracing them back to their parish of origin. Scotland’s population is smaller than Massachusetts, but it has produced millions of emigrants who have settled in all parts of the world. Originally from Andover, David Dearborn worked at the New England Historic Genealogical Society for 38 years before retiring as Senior Genealogist. His research interests include Scottish ancestry, families of Essex County, MA as well as Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont genealogy.  He has recently returned from a research trip to Scotland and Ireland. Sponsored by the Friends of MHL.
